Date arithmetic follows calendar units rather than converting every unit into an estimated number of days.
Years are applied first, then months. Weeks and days are applied afterward as exact seven-day and one-day intervals.
If the target month does not contain the original day, the result uses that month’s final valid day.

Dates are handled at UTC midnight, so daylight-saving transitions cannot create an off-by-one result.

Business days currently mean Monday through Friday. The start and end switches determine whether each endpoint participates in the count. Saturdays and Sundays are reported separately; national and regional public holidays are not removed in this version.
Gregorian leap-year rules determine whether February has 28 or 29 days. Adding one year to February 29, 2024 therefore produces February 28, 2025.
Invalid destination dates are clamped to the month’s last day. January 31 plus one month becomes February 28 in a common year and February 29 in a leap year.
