Sweat losses vary widely. Longer or intense exercise, especially in heat, may require an individualized fluid and electrolyte plan.

Hot or humid weather can increase sweat losses, but temperature, humidity, work rate, clothing, fitness, and acclimatization make precise prediction impossible. The calculator's heat allowance is deliberately modest and is not a replacement prescription.
